Be the Light
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden." — Matthew 5 :14
Jesus didn't say, "Try to be the light."
He said, "You are the light."
When His Spirit lives in us, light becomes our nature — truth, purity, and love flow from within.
Shine in Darkness
But light is only seen when it shines in darkness.
If we blend into the world, how will anyone find the way?
If our words are holy but our hearts are cold, who will believe the message we speak?
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5 :16
The Character of Christ
To shine is not to boast or seek attention — it is to reveal the character of Christ:
To answer harshness with gentleness.
To love enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
To stand for truth when lies are popular.
To serve quietly when no one applauds.
True light does not argue — it illuminates.
It exposes darkness not by condemnation, but by contrast.
When the world grows darker, the smallest light shines brighter.
Reflecting the True Light
Let your life reflect the One who said, "I am the light of the world."
Walk as children of light (Ephesians 5 :8), and others will see Him — not you — and glorify the Father.
